Porsche recalls 718 Boxster and Cayman for lack of side intake grills - fire potential!

Porsche has issued a recall for 2017-2019 Porsche Boxster and Cayman models due to the potential for fire. The potential is created when a cigarette butt or other inflamed material gets sucked into the side intakes and can ignite materials in the intake, most likely the paper air filter. Porsche is installing internal intake grilles free of charge. Secondary protection for your Porsche Boxster and Porsche Cayman can be attained by adding an external intake grill. Currently Radiator Grille Store is working with owners to create an external, OEM look, economical solution to this issue. Currently we offer radiator grilles and side intake grilles for the Porsche Boxster and Cayman 987.1, 987.2 and 981 models.
